Returns

We want you to be completely happy with your purchase. If there's an issue, please send us a message so we can chat.

Because we ourselves use our products on a daily basis we are confident of their quality. Online ordering can be a tough gig, though, because you can't pick up a bar and give it a sniff and you have to rely on our (admittedly fantastic) product photos to gauge appearance. We get that. We recommend you read through this page before ordering so you know what to expect from your ordering experience.

Our Return Procedure

  • Please begin by sending us a message at info@dayspringfarmwisconsin.com. Let's chat about what's not quite right.
  • You may return items within 14 days of delivery.
  • You are responsible for return shipping costs.
  • Your payment will be refunded when the item arrives at our door.

Sample Items

We offer smaller sizes of almost everything we make. Soap ends - the trimmings from the ends of our loaves - are sold in six ounce bundles and can contain an assortment of scents according to your order request. This is a good way to try a particular soap variety without investing in a full size bar. 


Because all shipping (including return shipping) is expensive, we strongly encourage you to order carefully. Consider starting with a smaller size if you have sensitive skin, if you struggle with allergies, if you are unsure of the scent, or if you are trying a new product. 

Notes on Scents

Many of our soaps are unscented. Others are scented with fragrance oils or essential oils - please see ingredient lists for specifics. Fragrance oil ingredients are protected by trade secret law. Our supplier does not disclose the ingredients to us, so in our soap ingredient list we can only include "fragrance" as the indicator of a fragrance oil's presence. Soaps scented with fragrance oils are scented at what we consider a moderate rate, but scent is a completely subjective sense, so a given user may feel we scent too lightly or too strongly. If you are unsure, please order a sample or a travel size bar when available.

Where a soap is scented using an essential oil we clearly indicate this. We follow IFRA (International Fragrance Association) guidelines as to essential oil percentages in our products, but individual experience will vary. Please note that due to these guidelines we are not including oils in product based on scent preferences but based on safe usage guidelines. Essential oils are not simply fragrances but may, in themselves, have beneficial uses or be harmful when used incorrectly.

On Variations in Handmade, Artisan Batches

A perk that comes with factory-made, commercially-supplied product is consistency. You can go to a McDonald's in any town and know what to expect on a Big Mac. The downside is you're eating McDonald's food. If you want total consistency and predictability, the sacrifice is quality.
In handmade artisan goods, we strive for consistent quality. Our batches are small, so there can be slight variations in the color, scent and shape of our soaps. But they're made by real people, for real people - we'll always sell you soap we'd be happy to use in our own family.

Allergy Concerns

If you have allergy or sensitivity concerns please try a soap in a small size before investing in a larger size. If you have a reaction you believe was caused by our soap please take a photo (assuming it's in an appropriate location) and send it to us at dayspringfarmwisconsin@gmail.com along with your order information and we will work with you to resolve the issue.

Cancellations and Order Mistakes

Sometimes you order an item by mistake and only realize it after it ships. If this happens, when the package arrives please mark "return to sender" and send it back unopened. This way you avoid needing to pay for the return shipping. The order will be handled as a return and you will be issued a credit.

You may cancel an order if you notify us before it ships. We ship quickly so this window is small.
